A cutoff is not a countdown

Green card wait time: what the bulletin can tell you

There is no single wait time in a cutoff table. The bulletin reports visa availability dates; it does not calculate when an individual case will finish.

What the dates do tell you

A Visa Bulletin cutoff can be compared with a priority date for a category and country. The comparison is a snapshot for that month and chart. The cutoff may move at different speeds, pause, retrogress, or be marked current.

Why a month-gap calculation is not a wait-time promise

A calendar difference between a priority date and the latest cutoff is just arithmetic. It does not account for future visa availability, case processing, changes to category or chargeability, or other requirements. The available history here spans 134 bulletin records through 2026-11; that is not enough to infer an individual timeline.
